Ormskirk Hospital commissioned a bespoke wall mural for their paediatric ward treatment room, transforming it into a bright, welcoming, and child-friendly space. Our hospital wall murals are designed to engage young patients, provide comforting distractions during treatments, and bring a sense of fun and wonder to clinical environments.
The Brief
The hospital loved our “If You See It, Say It” concept and wanted a unique, bespoke mural for their ward. Staff provided a list of characters, items, and playful elements to include, making the design personal and tailored to their space. The mural also incorporated recognition for a local business funding the project, ensuring the design had both charm and purpose.
The Process
Our team illustrated each element and visited the ward to take precise measurements. This allowed us to create a mural that perfectly fitted the three walls, balancing fun, engagement, and practicality. After the design was approved by the hospital, the mural panels were printed and prepared for installation.
The Result
Installation day revealed a vibrant, interactive space that instantly lifted the atmosphere of the treatment room. Staff were thrilled by the transformation, and the mural quickly became a valuable tool to comfort and distract young patients during procedures. The project’s success also led to an invitation to create a similar mural for the hospital’s radiology department, expanding our impact on Ormskirk Hospital’s child-friendly design.
The impact to our Treatment Room, is far better than what we imagined, although we anticipated it would be amazing. It has transformed the room for our patients and the option to add some of our own designs meant we were able to personalise it to our Hospital. The imagery is bold and bright and is suitable for a variety of ages, providing conversation starters and talking points as well as enabling distraction therapy to be implemented with great effect.
