The Brief
To update the reception area to the hospice from a simple purple wall to something more welcoming, eye- catching and meaningful.
The Process
After an initial brainstorm, we decided it would be a good idea to create a design from artwork created by the children and families that use the Hospice. The Forget Me Not team selected families, carers and siblings who they thought would enjoy a group activity. We facilitated two craft sessions over two mornings where children were invited to paint, doodle or craft whatever they liked. From these sessions we collected all the artworks and pieced them together to make the star shape design which reflected the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice branding.
The Result
Apart from the usual ‘wow’, the client had many complimentary comments about the new look and feel of the reception area. We’ were also asked to replicate the same wall mural at two further new office locations. This has been one of our favourite projects as we’ve been able to engage and include artwork from our group activities with the children who use the hospice and is a great creative representation of a community project. We have also produced a short YouTube video to showcase this project.
100% recommend! The Wall Nuts team produced a wonderful mural for the children’s hospice using artwork the children had actually made themselves.
