The Brief
In the run up to their move into a larger space, where two offices would become one, Jack Lunn Construction wished to create a well branded space that both reflected the company and its history as well as promoting an inspiring workplace. Our client asked us to transform three of their walls. The first being in the board room where the history of the company would be told. The second was in their kitchen space which would depict a celebration of being a Leeds/Yorkshire based company. The final wall was in their reception area which would pay homage to Jack Lunn himself.
The Process
Our initial briefing meeting lasted a couple of hours as we delved into the company’s history and their story so far – this was something our client wanted incorporating in their new office branding and was a strong foundation of their brief.
Once our client got the keys for their new office, we were able to conduct our site survey. During this time, there were a number of off site meetings where the designs were refined, imagery exchanged and history amended as new things were added to ensure the finished product included all key elements whilst being as up to date as possible.
Through the use of impactful photographs, words spoken by Jack Lunn’s wife and the company’s story, we designed and created three different walls that our client was happy with.
The Process
The Result
On installation day, the longer standing staff were reflecting over past projects that were now displayed on their board room wall. As well as an opportunity to reminisce, the company history now on the board room wall created a conversation starter for visiting clients, suppliers and potential staff.
Their reception area now pays homage to Jack Lunn and provides a warm welcome to anyone who visits. The Yorkshire roots of the company are reflected through the depiction of Leeds landmarks in the kitchen space.
Our client was thrilled with the end result and we enjoyed working on this project and getting to know all about the company along the way. We even produced them some mouse mats to hand out to their staff.
What a pleasure it has been working with you to produce our company timeline mural, it’s been quite an emotional process searching through 70+ years worth of family/company photos, seeing pictures and articles of past projects, employees, work colleagues and piecing everything together, to what I believe is a fantastic storey and tribute to the Jack Lunn journey.
Your time, interest in our history, personal touch and continual support throughout the process, has certainly been worth it, especially when I see and hear all the complimentary comments from our current workforce and visitors, the murals really do have the “wow” factor and set our new office off. I can’t express how pleased I am.
